Happy Christmas Eve!

Today is my favorite day of the season. I really enjoy the hustle and bustle of the last day before tomorrow's grand finale. At press time, it is 5:35am and Duke has already reminded me thrice that tomorrow is Christmas. As if I could forget!

Our eyes are glued on this Santa Tracker from Google. Santa's already headed out and is making deliveries on the other side of the world!

This morning, I'm working on a happy to-do list for the day, scrolling Pinterest to revisit bits and bobs that I thought were good ideas and find some cookie recipes to try this afternoon. I'd like to buzz out for lunch at Storm Cloud over in Frankfort, and then after that, officially hunker down for the holiday. Duke wants to watch Home Alone 1&2 back to back this afternoon and I think that sounds like a very nice idea.

Last night, we watched Christmas Vacation. I trotted out a simple charcuterie board and poured a glass of Gingerbread wine from St. Julians (festive, but too sweet to actually drink more than a swallow or two.) I hung up another strand of lights between the kitchen and living room, and Duke and I played a round of Christmas bingo. I'm overly sentimental in general, but boy, it just felt like these are the good old days. I sat on the floor, leaned up against Ryan's legs and couldn't imagine anything being better than they are right now. Although, I think that every year and I look forward to feeling that way forever.
