Well well well, here we are in mid-October and as usual, I'm hyperventilating about how quickly everything good goes. I love this part of fall, but what's it last? A week? Maybe a week and a half? I saw snow on the forecast for next week and *luckily* that's switched over to just really cold rain. I still ran to get out my to-do list to quickly scrawl all of the outdoor things I want to do before it hurts to be outside again.

Do you have any outdoor winter activities that you love? Please share. I swear, I'm always looking for something to get excited about in the cold weather and so far, I've only got wine tasting.

ICYMI

In case you missed it, here's what I posted on the blog this week.

5 things I learned, traveling in a pandemic. And one suggestion to whoever is in charge at Apple these days: Siri cheerfully welcomes me to every state. That's very nice, but if she could also say things like "Welcome to Colorado! Masks required indoors and out which you'll be grateful for because the whole GD state is on fire" or "Welcome to Iowa. We're not concerned, hashtag no masks!" that would be really helpful.

What I'm watching and listening to this October. A real quick synopsis? Murder, strippers, and a crazy nurse. How's that for click-bait?

We visited Montpelier, VT a week ago and Duke was dead sure he saw Elsa. 😂

INTO IT

I can't help it. Duke is really into Halloween this year and so am I. I started to see it last fall, but this year he knows what's up and excitedly talks about his costume on a daily basis. It feels very good and a little nostalgic to show him all the Halloween stuff from my childhood. Such much Alvin and the Chipmunks, Charlie Brown, and Hocus Pocus to enjoy this month.

SHOPPING

Anyone find anything great on Prime Day this year? I think I bought a vacuum once, but I almost never find anything to get really excited about. I don't think the deals are that great?

But I'm still shopping, so hang with me, and right now, Halloween phone cases are my favorite thing to peruse while I watch TV.

Why are we so emotionally attached to possessions? I can feel this

Related: a so-called "ultimate road trip" planning guide. Frankly, I found it to be a glamorized version and I laughed a lot because it is complete with recommendations to buy Louis Vuitton travel bags, but if you can look past that and the $90 denim shorts, the basics are all there. The rest is for laughs.

Related to that related: LV makes dollhouses now. Tiny step-and-repeat LV trunks in every bedroom, obviously.

Here's 5 blogs that I read regularly: Halfbaked Harvest, A Beautiful Mess, Jess Ann Kirby, We the Dreamers, and Garvin and Co

Do you know your enneagram type? I loved this conversation over on Christina Wilcox's Instagram account earlier this week.

SOMETHING FUN

The OverheardCelebs Instagram is just great.

PLANS

Running through the pumpkin patch | www.biblio-style.com

If you ask Duke, we'll be driving around, looking for pumpkin patches. And he might not be wrong.

But my first priority is finding something new to read. I've had Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald on my shelf for years and finally forced myself through it, but honestly, I couldn't get into it. The whole thing felt like a disappointing slog, especially when similar profiles of writer's wives, like The Paris Wife, exist to set expectations high. Some writers speak to you, some don't. It is what it is. Anyway, I'm realllllly ready to get obsessed with a page-turner.

Other than that, it's the freakin' weekend, baby I'm about to do 15 loads of laundry.

Cheers!
