Happy October, you guys! This is one of my favorite months of the year and right now, we're exactly where we should be this time of year: New England. I have wanted to see this in real life ever since I stumbled upon KJP at the advent of Instagram. I really do think it's a color tour trip that is worth putting on your bucket list to do at least once. It's SO beautiful.
It's also officially spooky season and Duke and I will be hosting daily conversations about what he'd like to be for Halloween. Right now, we're cycling through being a spider, spiderman, or a goose (??!).

In case you missed it, here's what I posted on the blog this week.
We spent a few weeks at home between traveling out west and switching gears to head east. Here's what we did.
What I read in September. And if you're interested, here's what I'd like to read in October.
Not usually what I do here, but here my opinion: Unenthusiastically voting for Biden in November.
2 || INTO IT
Usually, this is the time of year when I break out Soup Sunday (or less alliterative, roast a chicken on Sunday afternoon), but right now, I'm really enjoying these cozy recipes.
3 || SHOPPING
OFC I forgot important things like tortillas and q-tips, but I did remember a few essentials that I'm not sorry for prioritizing. Here's what I've got packed in our tiny closet.

A very weird smattering of things that captured my interest this week.
Every shot is beautiful: NYC Photo Guide.
I love a good seasonal drink. I also love when things come in convenient cans. I am here for this.
I love the conversations that Cup of Jo starts. What are your three favorite books? A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is also a list-topper for me.
Parents, this one is for you. Are you the worst F*#%ing parent ever? Probably.
I bought a Moka Pot to make espresso drinks at home, and it's the best. Super simple to use and very cost-effective.
5 || CURRENTLY
Watching: Ratched on Netflix.
Okay, the reviews aren't great, so I am asking you to trust me. If you like campy, American Horror Story-esque, Ryan Murphy/Sarah Paulson collaborations, then this is for you. It's basically another season of AHS without the usual crew, and I 👏 am 👏 here 👏 for it.
Perfect binge for spooky szn.
Listening: Down the Hill Podcast
True crime, an unsolved murder, and very weird, mysterious evidence. In 2017, two young girls were murdered in Delphi, Indiana and one of them recorded her murderer on her cell phone just moments before they disappeared. The case is roughly 3 years old and still hasn't been solved. Not only is this an engaging podcast, but there is audio and video. I think it's hugely important to share with everyone you know. Someone knows who that man is. Someone recognizes that voice. Someone knows that gait. All it takes is the right someone to see it and hear it.
Reading: Midwives by Chris Bohjalian.
It's a little older - from the mid-90's, I think - and is the kind of aged bestseller that is in every single Goodwill. If you see it, grab it. Especially if it's a quarter, but also if it's a whopping $1. It's good.
6 || PLANS
Oh we'll just be spending all our money on gas and gas station coffee. Lol - not a joke.
Seriously though, we've got plans to head down the coast and eat lots of lobster rolls. Hope you have a great weekend!
